I am very excited to chat a bit about our next step to help you learn RAML from scratch or if you know RAML to guide you through the next steps.
A good self-explained tutorial is essential to find out more about a particular technology. Our current tutorial on raml.org is based on RAML 0.8 and consists of two parts. We start with the basics using a simple example which leads into the second part that explains the advanced features to create reusable assets. Since we released a new version of RAML, 1.0, we need to update the tutorial to reflect not only the changes but also introduce the new features. That is the perfect time to step back a little bit and first collect some constructive feedback from our community.
Our current plan is to build the tutorial from scratch based on your comments. For that, we would like to ask you to fill out this survey which will help us to understand what you are looking for and the improvements we need to consider. Besides improving the tutorial, we also want to put the content on Github (see here), which gives us the ability to increase the touch points with our community. Github will not only assist us in fixing issues much faster by reusing common versioning mechanism like pull requests, etc., but it also gives our community a platform to discuss improvements and changes to the tutorial content. We will then work on an automated way bringing the content into our websites.
Let us know what you think!
